According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Markieff “has been sold on a backup power forward role with the Lakers — with more minutes for Kyle Kuzma at three”.

Markieff has averaged 11 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in Detroit this season.

The 30-year-old could get his first opportunity to play his twin brother on April 10 (AEDT); the date the postponed Lakers-Clippers game has been rescheduled for, per Charania.
